Food Insecurity Webinar

Voice of Change held a webinar where speakers from food security organizations such as Meals for Madras, Dailykit, Hunger-free America,Abillion, and EatWell discuss hunger-related issues from across the globe and how their organizations offer solutions that leave long-lasting positive impacts on our society.

We held a webinar on the 11th of September at 10 am SGT to raise awareness for those that experience hunger daily, and equip ourselves with the knowledge to provide nationwide solutions to combat food shortage and wastage in our everyday lives!! This webinar was very impactful and certainly influenced the viewers in a positive manner.

Our speakers:

Harshini sreedhar

Harshni Sreedhar is one of the masterminds behind Meals for Madras. Meals for Madras is a charity organization, in which meals are provided to residents in Madras who are affected by the Covid-19 pandemic. Harshni had put up an Instagram story announcing her plan to cook meals for the ones suffering in this pandemic, and was soon joined by her friends and many volunteers. Today, Meals for Madras has served over 4000 meals!


Joel Berg

Joel Berg is a nationally recognized leader and media spokesman in the fields of domestic hunger, food insecurity, obesity, poverty, food-related economic development, national service, and volunteerism. He is the CEO of Hunger Free America. He is also the author of all you can eat: How hungry is America?, the definitive and most well-reviewed book on American hunger of the last decade. Joel is a dynamic and much requested keynote speaker. He has delivered hundreds of speeches in more than 37 states and in 4 continents.

Rishi Kumar

Rishi Kumar is the CEO at DailyKits. Dailykit has done all the heavy lifting and they believe their clients have everything they need to run a successful food business, be it a restaurant, a grocery store, a Large Enterprise, or a food startup!

Maria Tan

Abillion’s mission is to build a global community that catalyzes millions of people and businesses to do what’s right for their body, the animals and the planet. Maria is a leading data scientist at Abillion and takes a lot of pride in her work. She is also a regular reviewer of meals and products which make up a vital part of the app.

Daniel Wexler

Daniel Wexler is the CEO of EatWell Meal Kits, a public benefit corporation that creates wholesome food for happy families and healthy communities with affordable, and nutritious meal kits. He has spent the last three years working with Boston residents to understand local challenges around healthy food access and opportunities for community-focused solutions. Dan has an MPH from the Harvard School of Public Health, where he studied health management and behavioral economics

Zhi Qing Ho

Zhi is a final year student from NTU studying Chemistry and Biological chemistry with a second major in Food Science & Technology
